Preparation For First Triathlon
WHEN ONE SPORT IS NOT ENOUGH try a triathlon.
SWIM BIKE RUN can be daunting if you have never tried it before. And many of you having completed marathons think, whats next? That's where the most up and coming sport comes in, TRIATHLON.
One discipline is difficult enough but putting them all together needs practise, especially as often forgotten, there is a 4th discipline, the transition. You will need to come out of the water, dazed in some cases, and get upright on a bike, then cycle as hard as you can then come off the bike and run. This experience is like no other, as you think you have left your legs somewhere. Again all takes practise.
However the experience and the feeling you get when you complete your 1st triathlon is like no other and you will go on to do many more.
I have now been competing for 4 years, mostly in Olympic distances (however I have entered my first half Ironman in 2010) and I can help you train towards your 1st triathlon or just to get better. I will give you gym specific exercises that will help you strengthen your body for all 3 disciplines and help with the transitions going from one discipline to the next.
